Learn more with our Frequently Asked Questions

Does Medicare or Insurance cover the cost?

Medicare does not pay for the service. Only long term care insurance policies. Health insurance generally does not cover these services. If you have long term care coverage, we can accept assignment directly from your insurance carries and bill them on your behalf.

How are your caregivers selected?

All of our caregivers are thoroughly interviewed, references are checked and triple screened. We conduct background screening and drug-testing prior to employment. We require that they have at least one year experience in caregiving and/or nursing.

Is there a contract?

An agreement is signed but it does not bind or obligate you to stay with our agency. It basically states that you will only pay for the services you use, that you will do business in good faith and that you will take responsibility to provide a safe working environment for the caregiver.

What type of cases do we handle?

In general we take care of geriatric patients. We have experience with everything from clinical and hospice care to simple companion cases.

Do your caregivers speak English?

Yes.

What about holidays?

Caregivers and nurses are also available during holidays at a time and a half rate.

What are your rates?

Our rates for live-in and hourly care are affordable and competitive and are based on the level of care required. For a specific quote, please contact the office.

What makes American All Care Services better than the other companies?

We have over 10 years of experience in geriatric and hospice. We always place the comfort and safety of our clients first. We do a free evaluation in order to staff the right caregiver with the level of care required and the patient’s personality. Our pool of nurses and caregivers conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Our billing and scheduling processes are simple and convenient.

How much lead time do you need?

Although, we often have a caregiver start a case the same day as the initial patient’s call, it is preferable to have a few days lead time.

Is there a minimum or hourly rate?

Yes.

What preparations should I make to accommodate a caregiver or a nurse?

Hourly caregivers and nurses require parking spaces. If street parking is not available in your area, it is advisable to leave room in the driveway for them or obtain a daily or weekly parking permit.

Live-in caregivers require their own room (some closet space or a few drawers to store their personal belongings). A good rule of thumb is to put yourself in the caregiver’s shoes and accommodate accordingly.

What happens when the caregiver or nurse needs a day off?

We normally schedule primary caregivers to work 4-5 days a week and relievers to work 2-3 days a week. For personal time off longer than 3 days, we require the caregiver to give us at least a week of advance notice. The relief person provided will have similar experience to the primary caregiver. We make sure that the shift change doesn’t interfere with the client’s schedule or plans. Once a caregiver is placed, the client is never left without care. (Exceptions when appropriate: short trips to market, pharmacy, etc.)

What if there is a couple living together?

Our base rate is per person. There is generally a forty percent surcharge (may be adjusted) for an extra individual in the home. The caregiver may provide the spouse basic care such as cooking, light housekeeping and bathing. If they need more intensive care, you will need to hire another caregiver specifically for him/her.

Can I interview the caregivers first?

We prefer to send the caregiver to the interview (with no obligation) before we start a case. Our company is responsible for screening, hiring, managing and scheduling the caregivers and we have many years experience in this area. Our initial evaluation with client and family will help to develop a profile of the type of caregiver the client needs and wants. If a client wants to change caregivers for any reason, we will do so at no charge, as many times as necessary until the client is completely satisfied, that is our Warranty of Compatibility.

Can your service care for a client in a hospital, nursing home or assisted living?

Yes, we can provide services to care facility residents who desire one-to-one companionship and personal care.
